Based on a DNA content of 17 pg per cell (Lin et al., 1964 PMID 14262469),
researchers estimate that a HeLa cell contains 1.5×10^8 copies of
H2A, hence an equivalent number of ubiquitin molecules.This is equivalent to a concentration of 150µM (according to BNID 104 519) however Pielak et al., PMID 19113834 p.229 right column 6th paragraph cite ref above and give value of ~10µM.
