Method (Primary source abstract:) "[Researchers] provide a quantitative description of the proteome of a commonly used human cell line in two functional states, interphase and mitosis."
Comments "Two other systemwide estimates of protein abundance in mammalian cells are, like Schwanhausser et al.'s (2011), lower than [researchers']. These two reports suggest that the median abundance protein detected is present at 8,000 (Vogel et al., 2010) or 9,700 (primary source) molecules per cell versus our estimate of 170,000 molecules per cell [BNID 110234]."
