P.421 left column bottom paragraph: "Nail growth rate was calculated by dividing the difference in recorded distance from the proximal nail fold by the number of days between the two measurements. Results were reported in mm per month, defined as 30 days. [Investigators] compared left and right fingernail and toenail growth rate to determine if there were statistical differences or if it was possible to pool left and right digits using paired t-tests. [They] compared mean fingernail and toenail growth rates using paired t-tests as well. [They] stratified nail growth rate by gender, age group and onychophagia to examine possible differences. Two-sided P ≤ 0.05 was considered significant. sas version 9.1.3 (SAS Institute Inc, Cary, NC, USA) was used in all analyses." |
