P.1075 right column 2nd paragraph: "Strain AS1 cells grown in the absence of CCCP accumulated A large amount of TPP+, and membrane potentials calculated from the difference in radioactivity before and after the addition of the protonophore were -200 and -180mV in experiments 1 and 2, respectively (Table 1). In contrast, when cells grown in the presence of CCCP were filtered, the radioactivity on the filter was very low and was not lowered significantly by the addition of another protonophore before filtration (Table 1). The difference between 12,300 and 10,200 (or 13,200 and 11,200) cpm may be significant (Table 1).
