P.2 left column 2nd paragraph: "The accumulation rate in the wild and the mutation rate in the laboratory have been estimated for 34 and 26 bacterial species, respectively (electronic supplementary material, tables S1, S2): [investigators] only consider mutation rate estimates from mutation accumulation experiments, because estimates from fluctuation tests are subject to substantial sampling error and unknown bias, and [they] exclude estimates from hypermutable strains." |
