P.388 right column bottom paragraph: "[Investigators'] analysis of RKR1 deletion strains suggests that only a relatively small fraction of ubiquitinated nascent chains arises from stalled or NS-mRNA-derived products (Bengtson and Joazeiro, 2010). This most likely reflects the robust nature of mRNA quality control (Doma and Parker, 2007), which rapidly eliminates aberrant mRNAs in an initial round of translation. Consistent with these findings, there are only 200 molecules of Rkr1 compared to 200,000 ribosomes per yeast cell (Ghaemmaghami et al., 2003 von der Haar, 2008 BNID 100267)." |
