|"Fungal actin patches are sites of clathrin-mediated endocytosis, where a network of actin filaments appears and turns over in ~20 s during internalization of the endocytic vesicle. Several lines of evidence are consistent with actin assembly and turnover in actin patches by a mechanism similar to the dendritic nucleation model for the leading edge of motile cells (Pollard and Borisy, 2003)."
