"The value of K[myk] is given at pH 7.2, which appears to be the pH of the intracellular water in the tissues studied (Table II)...It was assumed that cellular pCO2 would be slightly higher in concentration than venous pCO2 based on the similarity between pulmonary venous pCO2 and end expiratory pCO2. All cellular pCO2 concentrations, therefore, were calculated on the basis of a pCO2 of 50 mm Hg in the rat (Table II)." See notes above and beneath table |
