"Voelker (primary source) examined transport of PS from ER to mitochondria
baby hamster kidney cells by exploiting the fact that PS synthesis occurs
in the ER and PS decarboxylase is a mitochondrial enzyme. Therefore,
labeling of PE with [3H]serine can be used to measure PS transport.
Transport of PS to the mitochondria (half-time of 7 h) was inhibited
treatment with NaN3 plus NaF, which suggests that transport is dependent
on ATP (primary source)." |
