"The values in the table are means ±S.E. of at least three experiments
(for the acid hydrolysis method) or two experiments (for the two rates
method). In the two rates method, the mean size was determined by
dividing the number of amino acids in a protein by the number of cuts
plus one (see Table 1 [BNID 109949] and Fig. 1). In the acid hydrolysis method, the
pooled products were hydrolyzed to amino acids, and mean peptide size
was obtained by dividing the amount of amino acids after acid hydrolysis
by the amount of peptides before it (Fig. 1)." |
