Method |
"A culture grown to 10^9 cells/ml contains,
in 32 liters, 3.2x10^13 cells. 540 mg murein lipoprotein
were obtained. 215 mg of lipoprotein
were removed after digestion with trypsin. Taking
into account a molecular weight of at least 7000
for the protein plus the lipid, the number of
lipoprotein molecules per cell once again is in the
order of 10^5." |
