Method |
p.1263 left column top paragraph:"Leaf areas
were measured at individual leaf positions of plants
harvested 22 d after stratification (DAS), which is just
before bolting occurs in both systems. The growth
measurements were performed at this time point to
decrease the potential influence of the flowering time
on leaf number and/or size." Extracted visually from figure 4B |
Comments |
p.1262 right column 4th paragraph:"Final organ size is the result of the action of two processes, cell division and cell expansion. To analyze the extent to which cell proliferation and/or cell expansion contribute to enlarged leaves, the leaf epidermal cell number and size were analyzed in the five IYG [intrinsic yield gene] lines. The measurements were carried out at 22 DAS for BRI1 and 30 DAS for GRF5, JAW, AVP1, and GA20OX1. The cell number in all transgenic lines was higher than that of the wild-type controls (Fig. 4B). The increase was particularly high in GRF5 and JAW (more than 2-fold)." Extracted manually from figure |
