"Table 1 shows the base composition of
samples of 32P-lebeled RNA taken from steady-state minimal and enriched cultures,
as well as from shift-up and shift-down cultures. For the purpose of analysis [researchers] have
indicated the composition of DNA, which [they] assume to be equivalent to that of
messenger (uracil equal to thymine), and the composition of the stable RNA, measured
