Comments "Table 5.2 lists some important properties of a number of carboxylases: where no data were available for enzymes from aquatic plants, information on the enzymes from animals or prokaryotes is used. [Researchers] note that, with the exception of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase, the carboxylases are oligomeric proteins with Mr values in excess of 250,000. The specific reaction rate (mol carbon fixed/(mol enzyme)/sec is very variable, with the lowest values in table 5.2 being those for RUBISCO and for phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase."
