Quantities of individual aa-tRNA molecules in cells of various strains

Range Table - link
Organism Bacteria Escherichia coli
Reference Jakubowski H, Goldman E. Quantities of individual aminoacyl-tRNA families and their turnover in Escherichia coli. J Bacteriol. 1984 Jun158(3):769-76.PubMed ID6373741
Method Radioactive pulse-labeling of small cultures with 3H amino acids. The fraction of 3H-aminoacyl-tRNA has been measured as base-sensitive material in total 3H-amino acid-labeled nucleic acid.
Comments In general, the amount of a particular aminoacyl-tRNA family varies by about 1 order of magnitude from several hundred to several thousand molecules per cell.
