Comments P.2 right column bottom paragraph: "Both kidneys receive about 22 percent of cardiac output that is equal to 1100 mL of blood in an adult. Blood flow into the glomerulus of the kidney is controlled by the afferent and efferent arterioles. The afferent arteriole drives the blood into the glomerulus, whereas efferent arteriole helps the blood flow out of the glomerulus into peritubular capillaries. Both of these arterioles can contribute to the filtration process by either facilitating blood flow to the glomerulus (via afferent arteriolar vasodilation) or increasing intraglomerular pressure (via efferent arteriolar vasoconstriction)."
