P.999 3rd paragraph: "Electric dichroism measurements on DNA fragments indicated that the tilt of the bases was not 83 deg as in the B-DNA structure but closer to 73 deg (primary sources), a value similar to that predicted by the conformational energy minimization technique of Levitt (ref 25). However a tilt of 83 deg was observed if measurements were done under conditions at which aggregation of DNA fragments occurs, which suggests that intermolecular interactions may affect structure (primary source 16)." |
