"...[researchers] examined the composition of retinoids during bleaching and regeneration in arrestin-/- mice. These animals were born and raised in the dark
and subjected to flash bleaching followed by a recovery period
in the dark. The distribution of visual cycle retinoids observed
before and after a flash is very similar to that seen with normal
mice (not shown)." |

was slower in arrestin-/- mice than in normal mice (0.6 and
1.1% per minute, respectively. Fig. 10). However, the rates of
rhodopsin regeneration were similar (0.8% per minute and 1%
