Comments |
Johnston and Vestal (primary source) estimated average turnover rates of
4?10^-9 per hour for photosynthetic carbon incorporation
in Antarctic cryptoendolithic microbial communities at ambient
temperatures that were subzero for most of the year. The
annual temperature cycle of these communities varies so much
with sun angle that researchers are unable to compute metabolic rate
as a function of temperature. |
