"Cowpea chlorotic mottle virus
(CCMV Family:Bromo-viridae genus:Bromovirus) is a spherical plant virus that
causes an important disease in legumes worldwide. CCMV
contains a segmented positive single-stranded RNA genome [1]. The genome is divided into RNA 1 (3.1 kb), RNA 2 (2.7 kb), and RNA 3 (2.1 kb). Monocistronic RNA 1 and RNA 2 encode non-structural proteins (1a and 2a proteins) that are responsible for virus replication [2,3]. The 5'
region of the dicistronic RNA 3 encodes the non-structural
3a protein necessary for viral movement (MP, 32-kDa
protein) which is responsible for the systemic spread of the
virus. The 3'
region encodes a structural protein (coat protein, CP, 20-kDa protein) translated from a subgenomic
RNA 4 that is transcribed from the complementary strand
