Under light limiting
conditions, the ratio of the number of turnovers, and
hence the ratio of the potential capacity for electron
transport, of PSI to that of PSII for the whole
thylakoid is ~1.4. In the case of spinach, PSI and
PSII capture 59% and 41%, respectively, of the total quanta received by the photosynthetic membrane in
daylight. |
