Method | Quantitative PCR assay. The primary inoculum was found to contain approximately 10^3 DNA copies/ml. After latency of approximately 24 h, the growth of W. pipientis was exponential, with a nearly 2.5-log increase in the bacterial load after 6 days of incubation of the cultures. Thus, the doubling time during this period could be evaluated to be 14 h. |
