The "hydrogenation," formally hydrogen-consuming reactions of energy metabolism are included in Table 14 (see section, Energy-providing processes and the synthesis of ATP). All of the energy values given in the tables are expressed in terms of thermochemical calories and of joules. One calorie is equal to 4.1840 joules." Table gives standard Gibbs free energy change
