Note-primary source describes fatty acids as tightly packed in a hexagonal lattice, with a center-to center
distance of 0.49 nm to the next-neighbor hydrocarbon
chains in LPS and free lipid A (p.16 right column 1st paragraph). This gives a hexagon edge of 0.283nm and area of 0.208nm^2 rather than value given above. |
