Stereological Methods: The volumes of the reference spaces were estimated from: V=t*a(p)*(sum of P) where t is the average thickness of the cerebellar slabs (in this case 4.1 mm), a(p) the area associated with each point of the test-grid (16 mm2 for the vermis and the anterior lobe and 81 mm2 for the posterior lobe), and P is the total number of points hitting the volume in question. |
