Method "Synapsin I is an excellent substrate for Ca2+/CaM kinase II (5). Therefore, [researchers] compared the kinetic constants for the phosphorylation of ADAP peptide(645-661), synapsin I, and a model peptide containing the sequence surrounding phosphorylation site 3 of bovine synapsin I (Table 3)."
Comments "The kcat value for phosphorylation of ADAP peptide(645-661) by Ca2 + /CaM kinase II was similar to that for the phosphorylation of synapsin I, but <1/10th that for the phosphorylation of the synapsin I phosphorylation site 3 peptide."
