Method "The variation in age at initiation of DNA replication (i.e., the variation in the B period) could be determined by autoradiography of synchronized cells. When the fraction of [3H]thymine-labeled E. coli B/r cells was plotted against time, a CV of about 60% was found (T(D)=165 min)(Fig. 31)."
Comments "Thus, if cell division is taken as a starting point, size at initiation of DNA replication (CV˜20%, BNID 110091) is more accurately determined than age."
