Comments "There have been few systematic studies of the epithelial population size in the crypts of the large bowel, and most of our knowledge is culled from product values of the crypt column length and the column count: there are, however, some direct observations (Kovacs and Potten 1973). [Researchers] should probably regard the product procedure as giving data of relative worth (table 18.9)(Sunter 1981, 4th primary source).
