Method Researchers used synthetic operons to systematically examine whether the number, length, or order of the genes in an operon modulates gene expression. Decay of full-length cfp and cfp-lacZ mRNA measured by Northern blots following treatment with rifampicin.
Comments It should be noted that because the mRNA lifetime is calculated from the degradation rate, it does not include the time taken to transcribe the mRNA.
