Value <=70 %
Organism Rhizobia

Comments The targets of O2 damage are proteins, membranes and nucleic acids (reviewed by Potts (1994)). Protein damage through metal-catalysed (Fe3+) oxidation reactions and lipid peroxidation leads to a loss of membrane semi-permeability and ultimately cell lysis.
