Comments P.1844 right column top paragraph: "An analogous biochemical CO2 pump evolved in plants with Crassulacean acid metabolism (CAM), bicarbonate is assimilated in the dark into 4-C acids, which are decarboxylated in the light to provide CO2 for the CBC (Calvin–Benson Cycle, Shameer et al., 2018). CAM evolved in at least 35 independent lineages and is found in ~6% of current terrestrial plant species (primary source)." Primary source abstract: "This water-conserving photosynthetic pathway has evolved multiple times and is found in close to 6% of vascular plant species from at least 35 families."
