Comments P.707 right column top paragraph: "However, it is clear that this is only a loose relationship, with exceptions anticipated, therefore, this relationship should be used only to make ballpark estimates. For example, newly isolated rat hepatocytes have a volume of 6.2 pl [primary source], from Fig. 3A [investigators] would predict an OCR [O2 consumption rate] of ≈ 125 amol/cell/sec. However, this rate is actually on the order of 350 amol/cell/sec (Table 2)."
