Method |
P.69 right column bottom paragraph: "Twenty-four metabolites were quantified on 1H NMR [Nuclear magnetic resonance] metabolic profiles, the others by LC-MS [Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry,], LS-DAD and enzymatic analysis. Similarly, temporal and cross-species comparative transcriptome and metabolome analysis shed light on the mechanisms and carbon partitioning leading to accumulation of oil in oil-palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) mesocarp compared to date-palm (Phoenix dactylifera) mesocarp during the fruit development and ripening [ref 71]." |
Comments |
P.69 right column bottom paragraph: "Oil-palm fruits can accumulate up to 90% (w/w) oil in their mesocarp, while date-palm fruits can accumulate 53% (w/w) soluble sugars (sucrose, glucose, fructose and galactose) in the same tissue at maturity. Interestingly, the uptake of soluble sugars in oil-palm mesocarp started before major oil accumulation. Temporal transcriptomic results for cell-wall invertases suggest that a significant part of the sucrose delivered to the sink tissue is hydrolysed at the cell wall." |
