P.6 right column 2nd paragraph: "Table 2 presents information on skeletal muscle mass and body weight compiled for 15 primates (including humans). The non-human primate data were derived from Grand (1977) and Zihlman (1984). The human data were obtained from Wang et al. (2001)." P.11 left column bottom paragraph: "Distinctive differences in human body composition also may be linked to the metabolic costs of our large brains. Relative to other primates, humans are ‘under-muscled’, having relatively low levels of skeletal muscle for a primate of our size. Fig. 5 shows the scaling relationship between muscle mass and body weight in living primate species from Table 2." |
