P.327 right column top paragraph: "Third, the thermal environment during embryonic development is a determinant of developmental period. For example, an increase in developmental temperature from 28°C to 32°C shortens the incubation period by 27 d in the lizard Dipsosaurus dorsalis (primary source). Incubation period and timing are important because the risk of predation and disease can vary with the incubation period and timing can be important in matching hatching with seasonal food supplies." |
