Method |
P.2 2nd paragraph: "In this study a healthy human pancreas from a donor has been used to assess the islet characteristics and their spatial distribution." |
Comments |
P.2 2nd paragraph: "Initially, the first measured parameters consisted of length (25 cm) and volume (45 cm^3). Onward, four regions of the pancreas were taken into consideration, namely the head (denoted as B1), neck (B2), body (B3) and the tail (B4). From each section of the pancreas [investigators] have used one representative cross-sectional slice which has been divided into 16 histological slides. Semi-automatic morphometric measurements were made on each slide in order to detect the specific features of the pancreatic islets." |
