An average translation initiation rate (primary sources) of 5 min^-1 from each mRNA gives a constitutive signal peptide synthesis rate of about 10^4 molecules hr^-1 or k = 10^4 nM hr^-1 (1 nM≈1 molecule per cell volume of 10^-15 l)." |
