Comments |
p.1434 right column bottom paragraph:"As expected (Terrana and Newton, 1975 PMID 805732), division was asymmetric, with a division ratio DR (length between the stalked pole and the division site divided by the total length) of 0.56 ± 0.04 (n = 706 cells) ( Figure 1C). The populations of newborn stalked and swarmer cells were characterized by narrow distributions of cell length at birth ( Figure 1D). Both cell types had a very similar relative variability in length, as measured by the coefficients of variation (CV, standard deviation/mean) of 16% and 18% for stalked and swarmer cells, respectively." See figure 1C for a depiction. |
