"Cyro-EM studies in yeast have shown that a G1
cell nucleus contains about 90 NPCs (nuclear pore complexes)[ref 57]. Considering a typical nuclear
surface area of 7.4µm^2 and a diameter of an NPC of 100µm [units in error, should be nm], one
can calculate that NPCs account for about 10% of the total surface of
the inner nuclear membrane [primary source]." |
