"In the fasting subjects the volumes of the intestinal fluid
in the colon were extremely variable with volumes
between 1 and 44 mL (Table 1). Pockets filled with fluid
were predominately observed in the caecal region, the
ascending colon and the descending colon. After the
meal, large intestinal fluid volumes varied between 2
and 97 mL (Table 1)." |
