Comments The flux control coefficient of RubisCO varies between -0.2 (i.e. photosynthesis is increased when the amount of RubisCO is decreased) and 1 (i.e. RubisCO is totally limiting for photosynthesis), depending on the short-term conditions (i.e. the irradiance and CO2 concentrations at which photosynthesis was measured) and the long-term conditions (i.e. the conditions in which the plants had been grown) (see Stitt and Schulze, 1994, for details).
