Comments | "PtdCho [Dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine] accounts for >50% of the phospholipids in most eukaryotic membranes. It self-organizes spontaneously as a planar bilayer in which each PtdCho has a nearly cylindrical molecular geometry, with the lipidic tails facing each other and the polar headgroups interfacing with the aqueous phase. Most PtdCho molecules have one cis-unsaturated fatty acyl chain, which renders them fluid at room temperature." |
