Method |
Researchers developed genomic variants of
the well-known run-on technique to evaluate the nascent TR (transcription rate)
for most genes. In this technique (GRO, Genomic Run-on),
elongating RNA pol molecules, that conserve the RNA, are forced to incorporate radioactive UTP for a short length. |
Comments |
If researchers assume that the 4670 genes
for which they have data are representative of the 5796 non-dubious
ORFs, the total transcription for RNA pol II in a yeast cell
growing in standard conditions is about 60200 mRNAs/h. |
