Cell wall analysis-Total hexose determination was performed using the phenol sulphuric acid procedure with glucose as the standard (Dubois et al., 1956). Total hexosamine was measured after hydrolysis with 8 N HCl for 4 h at 100 °C (Johnson, 1971). |
