Comments | Bird referred to in table is Gallus domesticus, recently suggested to be descendant of both Gallus gallus and G. sonneratii. Erythrocytes in birds are elliptical, and as such two different diameters are provided: CLD ("cell long diameter") and CSD ("cell short diameter").
