Obviously, the determined moisture content of keratin fibers depends on the conditions selected as the state of dryness of the fibers [ref 96] as well as on the RH (relative humidity). The amount of moisture in hair also plays a critical role in its physical and cosmetic properties, as described in Chapters 3 and 8. The data of Table 2-9 were obtained by dehydration of the fibers in a dry box over calcium chloride and determining the regain at increasing humidities." |
