Comments P.69 right column bottom paragraph: "Oil-palm fruits can accumulate up to 90% (w/w) oil in their mesocarp, while date-palm fruits can accumulate 53% (w/w) soluble sugars (sucrose, glucose, fructose and galactose) in the same tissue at maturity. Interestingly, the uptake of soluble sugars in oil-palm mesocarp started before major oil accumulation. Temporal transcriptomic results for cell-wall invertases suggest that a significant part of the sucrose delivered to the sink tissue is hydrolysed at the cell wall."
