The expected foldchange is given by Case 1 (of Table 1 in companion article, pubmed id 15797194) , with [R] = [LacI4], KR = Km and only one unknown parameter, Km, characterizing the effective dissociation constant of the operator Om. Here, it is possible to compute Km directly from the experimental data of Oehler et al. (primary ref)

This mathematical model (see companion article pubmed id 15797194) obtained value differs significantly from the experimentally obtained in vitro value of 0.001 nM
