While some annual species like Senecio vulgaris or Stellaria media can complete a life cycle in just 5 or 6 weeks (BNID 114310), some perennial species have life cycles of several years duration. For example, Fritillaria species cannot flower until about 5 or 6 years after germination (primary source)."
