Maximum percentage of ATP that is utilized out of that produced in substrate cycles

Value 20 %
Organism Sunflower Helianthus annuus

Comments "...hexose?glucose cycling consumes between 344 and 688 nmol ATP/h/embryo, which represents 7–14% of the ATP produced. Therefore, developing sunflower embryos utilize a maximum of 20% of the ATP produced in substrate cycles, which is in agreement with the high carbon conversion efficiency that [researchers] measured and much lower than levels of 45–70% that have been reported for other plant heterotrophic tissues"
